I find that hard to believe. Yes, I believe you, but wow how time flies.
Thanks. The tool still rocks.

I also thought of it as more like six months ago.  Whoever runs this company should be doing some marketing to increase the player base!

I posted this on my G+ page, a while back, but it got no traction:

Tired of those FPS which require you to have lightning fast Internet and so much horsepower under the hood that the street lights dim when you power up your PC? Tired of mashing buttons so fast and hard that your hands and arms cramp up after only thirty minutes of play? Tired of those open-ended MMORPG's where you have to camp boring zones and grind for weeks just to get some good gear which is crud compared to the junk dropping off of the lawn trash in the next expansion? Is your spouse jealous of your keyboard because it gets touched more than he/she does? Wouldn't it be nice to take a break? Slow down a bit? Like maybe a nice turn-based game that gives you time to actually put some thought into what you are going to do next? A game that is won by your intellect rather than by someone with teenage reflexes and a six figure income?

One word.... Alamaze.

Thanks for the effort, but from my experience, gamers who are into first person shooters are not the likely converts.  When we had free trials for Fall of Rome, most of those people thought it was broken because there was no animation.  We likely need to get ex-board gamers, and there is a chance for some kind of intellectual breakthrough if a new review (like Alamaze got from Dragon Magazine) or a celebrity like Steven Colbert started playing.  So you Colbert friends, start ringing him up!

I think what Rick really means is that we need more old guys who can't keep up with the kids in the real-time games. Smile

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Or the kids can't keep up with us in Alamaze.

Over the next couple of weeks or so, we'll be trying out a new order checker program to handle 3rd Cycle games.

If a failure condition displays while verifying your 2nd Cycle orders, just continue entering your orders until you're done and press the Submit Orders button to save your data on the server. You can always save your orders to the server if the verification logic fails. I'll be making a few updates to the software so some issues may pop up every now and then.

Depending upon your browser settings, if you're in a 3rd Cycle game, you may need to press the browser's refresh button in order to switch between your 2nd Cycle and 3rd Cycle games (to clear the browser's cached data). If your browser doesn't clear the problem with a refresh then close it completely and start up a new one (relog again) and you should be ok.
