Online Order Entry And Validation

Online Order Entry And Validation

http://fallofromegame.com/alamazeorders/

IMPORTANT:

1) Register your username/password preferences by sending an email to support@alamaze.co. Nothing vulgar and both fields are case sensitive. Spaces are allowed after the first character.

2) Enable pop-ups for your browser to the above website. After you successfully login, the next page is displayed in a new browser session so you will need to allow pop-ups to continue. No cookies are being saved by this program but your browser may save certain form data by default. You can disable or clear this through your browser security settings. No harm either way to your online orders.

3) Type in your orders on the form as appropriate. Be certain to enter a valid account number on top or your orders will not be properly processed. You may use the TAB key to traverse among the fields.

4) Press the VERIFY ORDERS button to validate your orders. Make any adjustments if needed and press this button until a successful no errors message is displayed. You may submit your orders with any outstanding errors if necessary (further explanation in the attached document).

5) Press the SUBMIT TURN button to save your orders to the game server. Just typing your orders on the form or pressing the VERIFY ORDERS button isn't enough, you have to press the SUBMIT TURN button to actually submit your orders for the turn. You may submit an unlimited number of corrections this way but try to have at least one copy of your orders submitted two hours before the deadline.

6) If you logout and wish to make a change to your orders, press the LOAD/CLEAR ORDERS button to automatically reload the data so you don't have to retype everything again. If you wish to start over, enter a higher turn number than your current game and press this button to clear the page (remember to reset the turn number back). If you wish to submit orders for multiple games, choose the appropriate selection from the dropdown list and press this button to clear the page (you don't have to logout to enter orders for another game).

7) Press the SAVE COPY OF ORDERS button to save a copy of your orders to your computer. [button currently disabled, still in development]

If you have any questions, please read the attached document first which explains what is being verified for every order/spell in the game.

Until further notice turn submission via web page is limited to game 148, if you have a turn due for another game continue to email the turnsheet file.

If we play multiple games and need to have someone fill a turn out is there a way to give them only access to the one game. so they can not look up other games? it would be very hard for me to actually find one person to fill out all my games if i needed to take a week off or something.

OK, then can we put in place an emergency/vacation protocol where a friend can email in the order for a particular game in the current style after online submission becomes the default?

You can have a special fee for it, so it really is used in unavoidable situations. Life be unpredictable, y'know?

Multiple ways of handling this:

1) Only give your password to another player who you trust. If you trust that person then it shouldn't be a problem to ask them not to submit orders for your other games.

2) If you ask someone who is playing in one of your other games then simply ask someone else to handle your turns for the week. Definitely change your password after you ask a stranger to fill in your orders though.

3) Plan ahead with standing orders. If you have control of a region or two, that's 7-10 orders being run automatically for you which isn't bad. Some new players don't even submit that many orders with their first turn. Also, if there's enough of a demand for the service (and Rick is willing), players may sign up for a "fill-in" list much like the standby queue but consists of volunteers willing to fill-in a temporary vacant position for a week or so.

4) No big deal if you missed a turn. I have and it's not the end of the world. Usually, the recovery from a missed turn is easier than you think.

Personally, I would never ask another to fill in my orders but that's my preference. Also to consider is that if another player submits your turns, perhaps we should have a separate listing under Valhalla since the original player was assisted in the kingdom's success/failure or even be disqualified since it's unfair to the other players.

I like Jumbie option. I would be willing to pay to use the old submission when required.
Another would maybe just allow a vacation mode where we issue the same orders for three turns. I could build wizards or ecomics. Granted an attack would probly force a drop for most players but if nobody can do the turns that would happen any way.

After my last vacation my wife made it very clear my girlfriend (Alamaze) was not invited on our next Vacation. I could plan 4 months ahead and not start new games. If that is even possible for me to do. I would miss three turns while on vacation in a two week period.

I was not actually worried about them submitting orders for other games more about calling old orders up and getting intel. Even an honest person would be tempted if it is just sitting there.

Valhalla wise. I see no problems. Stand by players could take over after 10 turn and get the win. I have no problem with some one with a fillin getting a win. It is like asking for advise and doing every thing they say.

On vacations.

Are there really places "we" are traveling to that don't have internet connection? And of course that assumes we are not bringing an internet connected device in the first place.

I have in the past considered a default turn for missed orders, but as Lord Diamond and others know, I am way behind where I would like to be developmental wise, as daily processing is so consuming. And I want to do what I want to do, strange as that might seem. So for Alamaze, my priorities besides daily processing and seeing the new web based order entry in place are getting my 2nd Cycle changes in a form that Cipher can implement them.

I live in Guyana, South America. I don't have functioning internet in the civilized area where I live sometimes. No mobile internet either.

I imagine there are many vacation spots that have it worse.
