Key not revealing short name

In one of my games, I possess the Key of the Plains. I thought there was code change that was supposed to reveal the short name of the connected artifact when you gained possession of the key, but that didn't happen. So I used LEARN ARTIFACT POWER on the Key of the Plains. The response was:

THE POWER-2 WIZARD CAST THE 'LEARN ARTIFACT POWER' SPELL.
ONLY HE WHO POSSESSES THE KEY OF THE GEM CAN HOPE TO OBTAIN THE GEM OF THE PLAINS (SHORT NAME
).

The part where I expected to find the short name was indeed blank. What does this mean? Is the code broken? Should I contact customer service to request the short name of the gem of the plains? Or is there some other reason why this would not work?

If the Game in question was started AFTER 1/27/14 then it is a reportable issue, if the game began BEFORE that date, the change is not in place for that game.
