troop stats
#1
I noticed in Fall of Rome spec sheet that troop types are not only given missle, cavalry, infantry ratings but also speed, defense, melee, and vs pc. Is FoR a more sophisticated game with more stats on troops/combat than Alamaze? Will these additional stats make battles more interesting in FoR than Alamaze?

Fall of Rome came out twenty years after Alamaze. Many of its aspects are 'more sophisticated' while others are less complex.

You have many more tactical options in Fall of Rome than in Alamaze. What you don't have are dragons, wyverns, ogres, orcs, monsters, skeletons, and a very large variety of battle spells from your wizards.

When Alamaze makes it into a GUI, the dream is that all the best features of both games (plus some new ones) will merge into something new and unique.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.
