Transfers
#1
I still believe that there needs to be an 'All' option when transferring troops. If my brigade gets a promotion when attacking this turn, my transfer will fail. There is no good reason for that to happen as far as I can see.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Honestly, I think the weakest part of Alamaze are the transfers, and I have said that from the beginning of the Resurgence.  I just think it is overly complicated  and haven't gotten to that in Alamaze

Please create the "all" option for transferring brigade types.    Transferring different experience level brigades eats up your orders and is not fun.   I dread staring at the brigade type list and realizing how many orders it will take to split an army apart the way I want.   Then if a brigade trains that turn the transfer fails.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree but it would be "any" as to brigade experience of a given brigade type.  So you could segregate the 3 brigades you need to recruit a Companion brigade type regardless of experience.

The 'All' option would primarily be under 'experience'. If I want to transfer all of my Wildling brigades regardless of what their experience is at the time of transfer, for instance.

And as long as UM is throwing in those options, it would be great if he included an 'all' option for types of brigades and numbers of brigades. For example, I might want to transfer all of my Veteran brigades regardless of type.

I don't think I understood your 'any' reference unless you want to transfer a Wildling brigade but don't care about experience....

Okay, let's go with 'All' and 'Any'. Smile

If it is real hard to program these changes in the mean time could we increase the number of transfer troop lines so we could guess at our troop types?   Any/all would be preferred however.

Thanks!

+1 Yeah, feeling the pain of order creep. When 11 of your 22 orders (the nominal max for most kingdoms), are troop and group movement, you definitely feel like you need a shortcut Wink

I agree that a 'all' transfer for a specific brigade type would be awesome to have!

Just want to say making an any or all transfer regarding experience is next on the agenda, possibly implemented somewhat differently, as the code should still know what to look for first, second, and third.

A possibility is you still would name an experience level, like 3 Wildling Regulars.  If you have 3 of that experience they go, if you have less it looks for veteran, and then for green, and then if you only have two Wildlings of any experience level, just two go.  Of course you still have the ability to transfer a second brigade type in the same order.

You might consider adding another line or two to work with.   In the past 2-3 troop types composed most armies.   Now the game encourages multiple troop types in every group making the transfers that much more difficult.    The farther you get into 3rd cycle games the more types I think you will see.  Thanks!
