Holding for Player

What does "Holding for Player" on the ready tab mean?

It means it needs a new player.

It means someone actually dropped the game at the sign up queue.
It used to mean they could add someone to that position, but I have not seen that done in a while.
The position still exists but will disappear 2 turns after the site showed Holding for Player.
