Is there a rule against more than one trade with a single kingdom in one turn? Why can't I trade you one gold for the food, then also trade hostage for one gold with a different order?

Yes, only one trade to each kingdom and 100 k limit.
Allies can gift up to 100k food and gold with the same order.

You missed the gold part of that trade.  I was selling food to give me gold to make my orders work.  For this to work, I give you 51,100 food for 11,000 gold this turn.  Then on the last turn we do another 50,000 food for 1 gold. In between we do each emmi for 1 gold.  

Will that work for you?

Finally catching up and it seems my warmongering days are coming to a close. While I have no doubt that I can play spank the Ranger yet again, the taking of Stormgate has shown that WA appears to be the true threat as he barely blinked before the fight was over. No longer can I claim supremacy over anyone... Except the RA, of course, who continues to follow me around. Everywhere. The same Ranger that wanted to handle things without assistance yet is now taking hand-outs from the Warlock. So much for a warrior's pride and integrity. *sigh*

Mr. Ranger, I plan on moving my troops, so don't forget to issue your trail orders, though odds are I'm not going very far.

I too was very surprised by the Warlock taking Stormguard. You paint me with a false brush when you claim I need assistance. You have had numerous offers of assistance that I have refused. The Warloco offered to sell my emmisaries back to me. That is hardly him assisting me. That is him getting a value for items in his possession.

I will gladly whittle away your forces as you move to take my PC’s. I had figured you were moving on a town to the south this turn, but now you might be going after another village, we shall have to wait and see.

The Warlock seems to be on his way to victory, but your d I pretty much assured ourselves of no victory when we went to war with each other. I am strong enough to take your region militarily, but you have been amazing at forcing me to use my military to fend off your political attacks. You are a worthy foe regardless of your disparaging remarks. Regardless of the number of Halfling bodies we leave for the crows to eat, we will have a new found respect for you halfmen that has been well earned.
