I agree. Help was, offered by me and others to everyone new and returning, but some do not want a mentor or any help.

Then that is on them Rellgar, but I think the community is to small and it can make some people feel like outsiders right off the start, my thought is for them not those that feel they "know" everything already, if that makes sense. Regardless of a game they can reach out assk and know they have a resource, who can even help them plan and teach much like the mentor game.

So, not one person got it...  This statement is as close as it gets, I do feel like an outsider, despite having a world class mentor, thank you Wookie.  The frustration which has ended my little experiment here in Alamaze is not the embarrassment of being caught engaging in a literal non-issue, which everyone seems to agree it was, its that for the past several turns, I have been asking, begging MY friend NOT to get involved in a campaign I plan to wage against the GN kingdom.  "Just let me steal gold" No dude.  Don't touch the GN, we will not gang up on him.  And the second I launch my attack, he calls out to HIS friend on the other side of the map who is ready with an infusion of gold and a HC vote... in return for the booby prize of artifacts, and in the same breath, calls us out for a non-issue that effects no one.  Now what do I do?  Ask MY friend, who is also on the HC to trade some unimportant trinket for his vote, knowing that he would support me with a simple ask?  Or end the charade?  I choose the latter.

Whether its intended or not, Many of you give the impression that you can't attack players without their friends coming to the rescue.  And as I said when it happened before, this simply does not interest me.  This is exactly why every single one of these player-enacted rules is stupid.  Yeah, it was frustrating in the old days getting ganked by 3 kingdoms who always work together... but that was a part of the game and therefore made it challenging.  Now, its still a part of every game, only the players call it cheating instead, and it is infinitely more frustrating when it happens.  And its why this player base stagnates at around 25 players.

Does DuPont know that you are referring to me as his friend? This may be a momentous day in our relationship. Smile

I (being a newer player also), can understand what you are saying here.  Some of it has merit and some of it is not exactly accurate in my opinion.  I didn't join the game with any friends.  I joined solo.  I have since gotten my nephew Sea Dragon (Puff) to start playing.  Just because other players may or may not be helping each other, my nephew knows that I will not break the rules to help him.  It is a personal choice on my part.  Hell, he just attacked Uncle Mike in his first true solo game.  I didn't even know he was going to do that.  My nephew definitely has a set of balls for sure.  Yes, I may be disadvantaged in the fact that I won't cheat for an advantage, and it may make it harder to win a game (I haven't won a solo game yet).  I am ok with that.  I will respect those I am competing against by respecting the rules.  Trying to justify breaking the rules because others do it makes zero sense to me.

The worst part about this (I am saying this directly to you Senior Tactician), is the effect you have had on all of this.  What you did was no big deal.  We all agree on that.  Then why couldn't you have simply posted on the forum what you did?  I wouldn't have cared if you talked on the phone because it was last minute.  If you had informed everyone then I wouldn't have felt like you were breaking the rules and trying to cheat.  So for something that was no big deal, you disrespected your fellow players and when called on it, you disrespected them even further.  Dropping all your games, and now with Agent Orange dropping all his games, the two of you are affecting multiple games and changing the entire dynamics and flow of those games.  You create a vacuum and then blame it on everyone else.  You cheated (in a very minor way), but your response to it is what kills me.  Instead of saying you own it and apologizing, you defend it and try to justify it.  Then you make it worse by giving every one of us the middle finger and drop every game your in.  You are basically telling us all off because you got caught cheating.

If you wanted to know what I wish you would do (You really probably don't care), I wish you and Agent Orange would go, Hey guys, we screwed up.  Yes, we know that things aren't perfect in Alamaze, but we will work harder to be a part of what makes Alamaze great!  That would be an awesome response.  You are both good players.  You both have much to offer.  If you think you can enjoy Alamaze and help us all make this a better community and a better game, then ask UM and Rick if there is any way to get you back in the games you dropped.  People on here are good-hearted people.  There are always a few that can mess things up, but we don't blame Draugr for being who he is.......(had to take the shot, Draugr is one of those California guys anyway).  I have no doubt that people would completely forget that this issue happened and come to love playing against you two if you would do the right thing and help us make Alamaze a better community and a better game.

Will you at least consider that as an option and consider making things right????

Cut him some slack.  They are returning and don't know that you don't have any friends.  They will figure it out quickly if given the chance.

I don't believe they dropped all games. I see one active in a game I am in.

AT - All
At the moment my partner, Senior, who was playing DU, has dropped.  That leaves me as AT a ship without a shore to land on.  I have nothing bad to say about Senior or anyone else.  He is definitely one of the better players I have had the pleasure to play with and he was teaching me as much as I was able to help him.  Great team player!

I have sent several messages to support telling them I have another experienced player who has agreed to take over the position.   I also sent Rick a private email this morning and I have had no reply to any of them.   As far as I can tell I am about to become a single player in a game of 2 player teams.  I have offered to take the other position myself as a last resort too but no reply to that either.  I think playing 2 positions would be unfair so that is not my first choice.

I am planning to play on for this turn at least but if I become a one player team this is going to be a major waste of time, in my opinion.

Rick handles all the substitutions in a game so I guess give him some time to resolve the situation. Perhaps, he's trying to contact the dropped players to rejoin their positions in time.
