For our current... situation... I see two options. Feel free to let me know if you see more. Here goes:
Option 1 - You waste over 100k worth of "resources" in an attempt to prevent an attack over two or more turns, while I continue to bring reinforcements in the form of additional groups, etc. All for something that produces 20% or less of what it costs you. We end up in a feud over it and I get the glory of chasing you and your wizards around Pellinor. You succeed at the immediate goal and find out that your investments don't hold up, or you fail and will have simply thrown money away. It costs me food, of which I have plenty.
Option 2 - You stop fighting the inevitable and in my benevolence I let your group leave because hey, we've a serious opportunity here. Both RA and DW are looking for buddies to attack the other, in regions not our own. And they'll pay us. You live, you don't sacrifice anything in useless gestures, and someone gives you stuff. I'll put some nice flowers on the mass grave we dug at your former village, and we can discuss if further "reparations" are needed.
Bonus option - We both go attack DuPont. We bring the Pirate.
Do let me know. My troops are anxious to attack something, and right now you're the one in their way.
