Does a PC that looks to be sitting on a Swamp/Mtn/Plains gain the advantage of that terrain or is it simply considered a PC. The reason I ask is I see a lot of kingdoms where the capitals on this map would say favor a specific race. An example is would Dwarves who get the advantages of a mountain square % advantage and also their kingdom trait. I suspect they do not but just checking.

A nuanced question.  Dwarven PC's in mountains get defense bonuses.  Mountain PC's generally start with higher defense and lower food production.  But generally PC's do not get terrain adjustments for combat.

Terrain and trait bonuses no longer add to defense for PCs.  Only control of a region does now at 10%
