Hiring Adepts & Centurions
#1
I believe that the time restrictions on order #511 need to be loosened because:
  • Why have to wait until turn 10? Leaders are absolutely critical to building armies and even Centurions are useless until they gain a level of experience. Let me get them started early. The same with Adepts. Let me hire them while I have time for them to get to a point to where they are useful.

#511 RETAIN CAPTAIN or ADEPT Captains cost 10,000 gold and 0.1 influence. Adepts costs 20,000 gold, 0.5 influence, Neither can be hired before turn 10, and Adepts may only be hired if the kingdom has no more than 4 adepts and wizards (entire kingdom across all groups cannot be more than 4). If the supplied name is not unique across all groups (not just the specified group) then a random name will be generated. It is possible that combat earlier in the turn may create a new leader with the same two initials which will cause the specified name to be replaced with a random one. Hiring a new figure with this order will not prevent the hiring froup from ambushing nor will it ruin the chances for a successful rest with order 745.
Group ID (must be at the capital, may be an inactive group)

• New character’s name of length 4-12 characters, no spaces first two characters, or leave blank and a random name will be generated for you

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Maybe a good idea the military kingdoms are the ones most likely to benefit from loosening of this. Of course the PI would end up with 6 wizards.

I agree that we should be able to hire both at any time (with no restriction on what turn it is allowed). Say I lost 3 wizards attacking a village on T2, I should be able to hire adepts on T3.

And I think that the PI would only be able to build to 5 wizards (based on the description of the order).

The PI starts with the location of a P2 encounter

It's not like their wizards are that awesome. If they want to hire an Adept the first couple of turns before they get to the P-2, then so be it.

That would be another discussion. Why do wizard kingdoms get levels cheaper and have different spell lists. I get that they are better isn't that why they have more wizards and can raise them higher and cheaper. It is not like military kingdoms get a discount or can recruit units easier. Wouldn't they know how to train them faster and better since that is what they do?

You could make Centurions and Adepts available for purchase on T4 since that seems to be the default for so many other activities.
