P1 / P2 Wizard ESO Rewards

In order to claim your P1 and P2 wizards after you complete your ESO, do you have to have room for both wizards in your 1st group?

I claimed the P1 and P2 wizards in one of my games, but the P1 took the last wizard spot in my first group, and it said that there was no room for my P2. Does that mean that wizard is voided and I waisted the 3 ESO reward points on nothing?

#992 – SELECTING ESO REWARDS
Players that achieve their ESO may claim their rewards on Turn 10 (if achieved by then), through Turn 15.  Rewards can be claimed by issuing Command #992.  Most items that will be received will be placed at the capital; if there are items that belong with a group they will be placed with the kingdom's first group; there must be slots available for any figures (leaders/wizards) and/or troops or these items will be lost.

Shux; I'm glad that I learned this lesson in our new player primeval - I feel like that is the best game to make a mistake!
