3rd Cycle ESO

My thinking was that the promotion would take a General all the way to Marshal, instead of General-General I- General II- Marshal so that's a big jump (same with Captain all the way up to General and Marshal all the way up to Warlord)... AND... if your first group is already full and can't change them out, you can still promote what you currently have.

I think promoting may be hard to code as you would need to specify who which is not part of the current order
I do like the idea though and would like to see an option
2 points elite kingdom brigade (3 for RD)
3 points nazgul marshal

Maybe add some powerful 4 or 5 point options kind of extra reward for getting the greater ESO

But you can already get a General from scratch for 1 point and a Marshal for 2. I guess you could add the option of a Warlord for 3, but no need for promotions.

Apparently, I'm the only person whose 1st Group has already been full of 3 leaders and will be going into battle next turn (or a Quest Unusual Sighting) but with no way to change out those leaders and you need/want to use your ESO points that turn. Can't add a new General or Marshal to that full group but being able to promote instead would sure be handy. That was my intent here; another option when simply adding a new General/Marshal to first group is not an option.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here but all code changes for The Choosing are done. Any suggestions should have been made during the development of the game, not now. In a few weeks, the code will be frozen which means that even minor bugs/nuisances won't be fixed unless they are fatal errors.

The next project on my list is The Road To Alamaze which is an introductory game for one or two players on a new map with a smaller subset of actions though I won't be able to get to this for a while yet.

There are other projects planned as well but I personally would like to automate the game signup/billing process which isn't even on the list due to priorities. So, I guess, save your suggestions for another time and enjoy The Choosing as a new version of the game throughout 2016.

Fair enough, thanks for all of your hard work to make Third Cycle a reality!

That's okay. It was just a suggestion. You never know when one will be presented as just the right time. I would have suggested it before, but (clearly) I didn't think of it. I did assume that you would eventually get around to making a Prince a reward since Rick has mentioned it several times.

Maybe Rick should edit out references to Princes being an ESO reward.
 Lord Diamond

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Well, maybe it'll be added to my pending task list but I think the design for The Choosing is final so no more changes will be done as far as I am aware. I just need to catch up and implement the last few remaining tasks in the code.
