You may also want to let the Underworld know if you have any other information, such as group locations, group content after your battle, etc., so that he can have some options. Easier to avoid counter-espionage that way.

Many months have passed since we put together the northern defense alliance. I hope all is well with your kingdom and your kin.
My advisors have kept me apprised of events occurring in your regions of the world. As usual, your calm leadership has worked to keep the younger, brasher kingdoms in check.
The ranger attitude has surprised me throughout, especially his claims to a region ceded in good faith to the mighty red dragons. Sadly, this led to altercations.
My advisors tell me our northern partnership is set to end soon. I feel it has served us well and it might be a good idea to continue it, not to prolong passivity, but rather to dissuade invasions.
Even the Witchlord has held true to his part in our defense pact. I continue to work with him on the white magics, but his wizards are slow to learn such, and tend to fall back on the darker magics.
Alas, those magics have served his kingdom well for centuries and he is unlikely to abandon them. All we can hope is that we can maintain cordial relations.
Please let me know your thoughts on continuing our pact and on ventures on which we may embark together.

Our peoples do indeed share a rich heritage of honor and courage. However, your recent "interference" with the Red Dragons settling peaceably into our former brothers' home seemed rash to me. It is never wise to anger the mighty flying citadels. I agree it seemed overly generous of the Dwarves to grant those Dragons the ancestral Hammerhold, but politics are important in this age of war that is upon us. Peace with the Reds was probably worth a temporary ceding of the city.
As the world moves closer to war, my peoples are sadly abandoning their pleasant past-times and gearing up for involvement. It is our hope that our great kingdoms will land on the same side of any war.

Greetings Neighbor:
We have watched with pleasure as your mages attempted the white magics. Sadly, they have no aptitude for it and continue to fail. We understand. Birds cannot swim, fish cannot fly, as my father used to say. Nonetheless, we appreciate the effort.
Our northern defense pact will be drawing to a close soon. My court advises me that the pact has been effective and none have dared venture into the north. It seems it would behoove us to continue the pact, defending northern lands and working together to bring peace to the land from our position up north, easing our way south.
Please let me know your thoughts on this, dark lord.

We are greatly pleased by our pact and your missive. We would be glad to extend it, and with the Witchlord as well. To the end of next summer [i.e. end-of-T25], perhaps?
In the meantime, with the departure of the Ancient Ones from this land, we feel it is important to assert our alliance's influence over the region of Torvale, especially as it neighbors both you and the Witchlord. We are a bit distant, but please know that we would support any such move to restore peace, and establish harmony and goodwill, by the Elves and Witchlord.

I would like to join with you and work together in Torvale. Perhaps I could take the economic base of the city and three or four towns and you take control. If you like we could declare an alliance but it is not a nessisarry step for me as I do not need these papers to trust the noble Elves.
I am also good with the defense pact until the end of next summer.

Our host has been gathering power and mass long since Arcania succumbed to our wiles. Now I see the forces of the world declaring allegiance and intent. There seem to be a few distinct camps forming:
Lords of the North: Elves, Witchlord and Dwarves - bound to defend each other and all three no doubt marshaling forces both arcane, covert and military. Free to move without worries of borders except south, this is a formidable force. Control the High Council of Alamaze completely.
Mountain Alliance: Red Dragon and Dwarf. The Red as he is want to do, flying and fighting and building strength. Fortunate that the Darkelf Imperium dropped early.
Eastern Pact: Rangers and Black Dragons - bound by borders and steel, pledged to defend against the Red but also attacking the Gnome
Undeclared: Underworld, Gnome, Demon Princes, Warlock. We have many NAPs in effect, but much of mine are set to expire.
Defeated: Ancient Liars. I roast the bones of their consuls on my fires to keep them burning hot.
Dropped: Giant, Darkelf, Ancient Liars
Clearly the alliances are being drawn. But where will the undeclared throw in their lot? If anyone has a proposal for us, the endless host is all ears.
DE- WA: It seems to me that we are currently without defense pacts. I might propose a center board defense pact between us to not allow us to be attacked piecemeal- and give would be attackers much more to think about.
