Greetings Red One. We are interested in setting up a relationship with you. Unless you object, We wish to declare you an ally so that We may send gold to you without any effort on your part. Specifically, we are looking for a ward spell for this turn, but we may have other needs going forward. We enjoy flying, burning and eating - magic is not so much fun for Us. We are mostly looking for defensive magic and things such as spells to improve Our influence - we are not asking for battle magic unless you are offering. We must warn you that helping Us, even in a defensive way, may upset the Old Crone of the South, but she has other things to worry about such as where she's going to be able to raise the gold to buy her anti-wrinkle cream.
If you are willing, We have the following questions:
Can you cast a ward for us this turn and if so, can you wait until next turn to be paid when you will not need to expend an order of your own?
Are you willing to sell us your town in Synisvania, should We wish it?
What sort of costs would you be charging for spells?

Are you absolutely certain that you and your cousin can't get along?  Just for one night?  Never mind.

In terms of selling my town in Synisvania, that would depend on the price.  Did you have a specific offer in mind?  As for spells, I had not given a great deal of thought to selling my services.  But gold is a useful commodity - raising wizardly power isn't cheap.  Perhaps the cost for a spell would need to be more than the gold a wizard of that level could otherwise create?

 Your predecessor and I had a NAP in place and was wondering whether or not you would still be honoring that arrangement.  You have already seen the Red Dragon come begging for magical help.  I would simply recommend that such a course of action is not in your people's best interest, if you view it from a long-term perspective.  Where will the RD go next with the DW as his puppet, the Eastern Steppes controlled, the devastation of the Rangers as his only competition in Synisvania, a stong BL to deter him moving any further south, and a NAP with the Witchlord.  Makes Amberland a logical choice.  I will not promise you towns, villages, money, or anything else in desperation.  I will simply appeal to your long-term thinking; a commodity few others seem to share given how quickly they roll over for the Red Dragons rather than grow a backbone.

To be honest, I do not recall the specifics of our previous arrangement, but assuming I didn't agree to anything abysmally stupid I am happy to honor it.  You do make an interesting case for where the Scarlet Serpent will next turn his flame.  Should he indeed target me rather than his cousin to the south, then we shall find out whose fire burns greater.

I realized now that there is new leadership our agreement does not hold true.   Would you like to agree that between our two kingdoms we will not specifically target each other's mages?  No reason to make others stronger by weakening ourselves.  As for the unusual encounter we have both come across I would say we just both go after it with no foul play vs the others group.

My apologies - I agree that silence does not serve Mages well, but it has been a very...distracting..time for me.  I agree to not targeting each other's mages.  I'm certain we can find more...interesting...ways to compete.

  I appreciate your offer to fund assistance via the Underworld.  I know that my people look to the day when the BLACK dragons are soaring above our fair lands supporting us in our action against the Scarlet Wyrm.  A Ranger military group did in fact engage the Red Dragons in battle.... well... if you could call it that.  The moment we arrived the Red Dragons fled in complete withdrawal.  They could not fly away fast enough.  For all his boasting, the Red Dragon King seeks only to engage against farmers with pitchforks in populated areas, but when he runs into real military forces he goes crying to mama.  I will try to engage him again but he keeps flying out over the water so I cannot join him in battle. He apparently plans to kill me with a million pinpricks by attacking all my farmers.
   As for Master Yoda, my greatest need is to remove the RD emissary in Jukanta, followed by elimination of his leaders and wizards/adepts.  That should quickly get his attention.  Whatever you are able to fund/negotiate with the Master is appreciated.

I would love to share this information, but alas certain setbacks have curtailed my spending and a High Priestess is not in my budget at this time, hopefully that will change soon. (see next post)
