Is there any actual conflict in this game (other than from or against the silent and ominous WI)? It seems everyone is NAPping to Turn 31 in a 40-turn game with potential to extend those NAPs....

I would like to extend our NAP to a more comprehensive alliance if you would consider joining me in a foray outside our home regions so that we may quickly secure a broader economic base with which to secure our kingdom's interests. I would agree to any target(s) that aren't precluded by our treaties. Towards that end, would you consider a formal alliance and prepare to act aggressively? If not, would you then consider a pact of mutual defense, in which we'd agree to rally to each other's aid in the event of aggression against any of our regions? I can bring covert, military and economic resources to such an alliance, in particular gold. Should you agree to any such pact I'll start sending gold caravans this very monnth.

The Onyx Imperium stands prepared to assist you should you find it in your best interests to engage an enemy. We only request that a target not be chosen, or even discussed, until after Wednesday (we have sent our orders and won't have time to adjust them). Let us use this short pause to consider that choice carefully. We would very much like to attack the nefarious provocateur that has been annoying so many of the kings of Alamaze, but aren't sure who that is .. we have ideas .... Of course our NAPs must also be honored. Lastly, shall we invite the terrible Trolls to join us, as you, good King Oban, are already engaging an enemy with them? Despite his somewhat uncivilized bearing (I do believe he would take that as a compliment), their good king has proven a reliable ally, as well as a fierce warrior.

While that may be, he certainly hasn't been targeting my kingdom. Your friend, the Celestial Serpent, has also been active with his high-level agents and I don't suspect he is behind the activities against your kingdom (nor mine, for that matter, as we have a NAP). The situation certainly is murky.
