The Chlamydia Package provides protection from pretty much any Underworld sponsored activity, ranging from kidnappings to thievery to keeping your secrets.  By "sponsored", I mean taken on my own initiative.  Some other kingdom can contract me to take action against you, but you would have an opportunity to buy out the contract.

Rest assured, extra-curricular activities or no, the official position of the Gnomish Alchemical Monarchy is that the Gnomes and Dark Elves have a non-aggression pact through the end of next summer, and flowery words and unsolicited advice about what may or may not be in your national interest shall not change that fact. After all, words are the diplomats' currency, and we can hardly hold an excess of them against anyone, can we?"

It would be against our traditions to ever claim innocence.  Well, unless someone paid us to - it isn't a common request, but is not unprecedented in our archives.  It would also be against our traditions to admit involvement - with the Golden Caveat as well.  If you truly wish to know how far you should look, I suggest purchasing Chlamydia.

I welcome your 4RA to the Mountains, we weren't expecting your company. We've moved to that same location on a quest, though see you have already investigated and discovered what was there.

I had hoped that our friendship might have accorded me the courtesy of some notification that you'd come to my region to collect artifacts, it would have at the very least prevented a needless march for my tired patrol, or an opportunity to negotiate for the right to investigate unusual sightings in my own region.

If you find the artifact isn't as useful to you as you had hoped I'd be willing to purchase it for a fair sum of gold should you need the latter more.
