Master of Shadows,

I am aware of the whereabouts of your town in the Mountains. I have respected your domain of that population center and will continue to do so, however that is contingent upon you affording me the courtesy of not furnishing my potential enemies with information or conducting covert operations against my kingdom. My agents are already unnecessarily occupied protecting my city and towns from further attempts at thievery.

I've given thought to making use of your services, though I have found your STD-based pricing somewhat unaffordable. Perhaps you might be interested in some territorial expansion in the Eastern Steppes, which I can assist in effecting. If you watch closely you'll see the direction in which the winds are blowing across the Sea of Drowning.

With respect,

King Oban

Great King of the Dwarves,

I believe the bulk of Alamaze agrees that the pricing was unaffordable - it was, perhaps, an idea before its time.  Regardless, let me clarify that my proposal to you is unrelated to that pricing model.  I am seeking to gain something from you, which means you are the one setting the price.  My feeling is that we can come up with payment that would satisfy both of us, assuming you are willing to consider a deal.

Let me share a potential exchange to give you an idea of what I think is possible:
You inform me of the location of a town and a village you own in the Talking Mountains and allow me to take control of them.
I declare you an ally so that I can gift back the entire production of said town and village each turn.  Said town and village could be returned to your control once my strategic objectives are attained.  In addition, I could provide scouting services for several turns.

I'd have to concur with Jumpingfist on this one, referencing discussions that have taken place outside this forum in the context of how two races might collaborate is not much different than having a private conversation given that some/all of us haven't been privy to the past conversation.

Shadow Master,

I'll give thought to your fair proposal and reply as soon as I'm able to.

OOC: No problem, although it was both public and private, from well before the start of this game... I just used "conclave" for role-playing.

But I will edit my old post and refrain from similar subtleties in the future. Smile

Shadow Master,

Your strategic goals are very important to me. Toward that end, if you could share with me your total census in Runnimede, I will make sure you achieve and maintain a substantial presence, as we alluded to in past discussions.

Grand Councilor of the Gnomes,

Unfortunately, my scribes inform me that these strategic goals require a significant presence in two regions, not a substantial presence in one.  There was a time where the alternative pursuit you suggest would have been possible, but it is too late to change it now.

Lord Of The Rangers of the Frontier Marches,

The Drow Lord's slander of your reputable kingdom despite an unequivocal record that exonerates you of his ridiculous accusations of betrayal demands that all just nations support you in your cause. I stand by your kingdom and propose that we marshal our forces and bring about as rapid and complete a prosecution of the Darkelf nation as our combined might allows. Perhaps we can enlist another nation to assist.

What say you to this proposition?

With might and honor,

King Oban

Observer:  This post saddens me. Are two on one not sufficient that we need engage a third nation? This is why I only play anon now.

Is one of your agents now with AIDS? Could you rapid train him then continue to train him every turn for us? If you want to make a standing order of it I will not pull him out until he is level 16. I should have the golds to get another AIDS agent if you have the willingness. Two AIDS fully pays for 1 of your own agents. Seems like a good deal. Also we have never had any issues with your pricing seems very fair for the risk in agent lives.

Archon of the Ancient Ones,

I have hired several agents, and two of them are testing AN+ for AIDS.  I took the liberty of designating two for you, as I can always cure them should you have opt not to retain a second agent.  They are receiving expedited training this month, and I will continue training both until level 16.

Shadow Master,

Alas, that is too bad, I truly wish I could have helped. Oh well, hopefully the thought will count for something, at least.

I would also be very interested in acquiring an AIDS agent or two, would two Hidden Ore spells for one AIDS agent suffice for now, to cover hiring, rapid training, and training to maximum proficiency, with increased future payments as necessary to cover the cost of post-maximum-training agent missions?
