For the breakout games, my intention was to give Imperators first picks, as that is sort of what we say in the Imperator Service Level. But we have a number of former Imperators on strike from the platform change. So at this point, I am more free-wheeling that if someone makes a case for a particular kingdom and has at least been active on the forum, they may get it, but the higher service level would get sway if the timing is close. Raise your service levels!

The new release, The Choosing, will actually be the first scenario in 3rd Cycle. The design is just way too expansive from 2nd Cycle to call it a scenario there. So it will begin on the Resurgent map, but other maps will be brought in over time. Meanwhile, the other ramification is that the next major dealio will be Kingdoms of Arcania, about a year after 3rd Cycle, should I live so long, which is the other reason to move now to 3rd Cycle. (See George Martin not getting the 6th book done in six years.)

We will have customization in The Choosing. It will be something like the ESO model, but more expansive. Let's say a player has five points to spend. So something like ESO rewards choices, but also potentially choices like starting with an additional available group (say 5 groups instead of 4), a trait not normally assigned to the kingdom within limits (cannot pick Flying, for example), Dynasty (a selection that must be made to start with a prince), a hidden capital are possibilities.
