From what I understand, it is indeed ZERO communication. A complete free-for-all with no alliances.

So if the AN/DE/UN are back in, is this back to a 15-player game or are we 12 with 3 potentially random nations not in? It certainly makes a difference in my choices!

From what I understand, it's a 12-player game with three "unpicked" nations non-played. Makes it very interesting since there's no way to know which nations will be unplayed/which regions easier to contest.
I'm in. I agree that not knowing who is out will be fun. For these variant type games, are non-played Kingdom PCs simply removed, neutral, or "human controlled" at game start? And are the starting armies present and able to block emissaries? Can you declare an ally?
To summarize the changes (and ensure that I have them all): 1) new Resurgent map 2) three positions not in game, could be any Kingdom 3) completely anonymous - the intent is what is important: no forum posts, e-mail, or in-game communications using #341-349 4) no turn zero announcement of the players in the game 5) status point turns don't reveal the players 6) end-of-game status points does reveal the players

Can you declare an ally? True, but the UN is one of those nations that really, really needs allies since it has no armies to speak of, is weak in mages and has a not-too-impressive political corps....and with no communication, nobody is going to hire his agents.

Can someone tell us how close this is to starting? It might make a difference to those of us trying to decide if we want to jump in or downgrade our accounts while we wait for a new game to start up.
