It could totally be fear... I mean, have you SEEN what the Gnome King looks like in the Kingdom setups?

Respect, and trust, is earned. It's easier to have loose agreements with people you know (and trust) than detailed agreements with people you don't.

Also, I was one of those affected by the recent outlook email outage.

So if anyone sent me emails and haven't gotten replies or they bounced back, please send again.

Hi All,

My ally and I had what we estimate to be 90% likelihood to denigrate, each, and we both failed. Could just be bad luck, of course, but I thought I should ask... the census determination is run at the time of the 475 order, right? And not based on census at, say, the start of the turn?

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I am new! Thanks!

DE - 109

Those census takers aren't wired in. The census is based on the beginning of the turn. Census is updated late in a turn, after all political actions.

Interesting. Might be another good thing to note in the next revision of the rules, maybe within the denigrate order itself? Makes a potentially big difference, from turn-to-turn, and I suspect the default assumption would be that because orders fire on their turn number, the census numbers would be processed at that time, too.

It's in two of the three Rules documents: General Rules and Charts for Reference. The Sequence of Events: Determining Regional Control.

Thanks, Rick! I was in the middle of tracking down where I had read about it and was digging through the forum threads trying to find it.

It's pretty potent to understand how the order of events factors in and how certain things impact it.

Can you comment on if the DE 'must own a PC' requirement is similarly based on the start of the turn or if that is done at the time of the order for 273 and 283? I know Cipher indicated that it had been updated to check, but do we know when the checking takes place?

That's a bit different - the code will just check when that issue is ordered whether the DE owns a PC at that time. Checking for Regional Control though is just determined once a turn, not with every battle or political flip, at the end (around #880) of each turn.
