Change King's Name

I am of two minds on changing beyond the King's name, I like it as a flavor addition and player ownership/customization service, but I have to admit my first response is 'ugh' due to having to actually make the changes. A few aren't that big of a deal, but there is the possibility of every emmie changing names as is, so scalability is the issue.

Changing emissary names is a hassle for the GM. And then the GM is doing that instead of other stuff. Sound familiar?

BUT! Going forward, maybe beginning with G109, a player can ask in his signup to rename as many characters as he likes, for an additional $5 in the game setup. So you say, I want to be in G109 as the BL and I want to bump for renaming my characters. Then you submit a form to signup with Rank, Old Name, New Name. Yes, you have to make sure you don't give two emissaries the same first two letters, if you screw up, its on you. Its not an issue with leaders or wizards, just emissaries including agents - there can be only one with the same first two letters. Names can be (for emissaries), up to 20 letters including spaces.

So, to summarize:
1. All players can rename their king free by listing it in the header section on T1 order form and making a note in the body of the email, or;
2. You can rename all characters if you like, by saying on sign up, "Bump me", and you get a $13 sign up and then change as many names as you like on your T1 submission, by submitting the format to change the names.

All the bump revenue goes to the GM of that game, if it matters to anyone. Again, this is about being respectful of other people's time, as well as adding the flavor and personal appeal for the players.

Suppose we just want to change the names of one or two emissaries, not the King? (Because, who wants to go through a campaign dragging around a baron named Xhose?)

Even better. Still just $5.

Believe it or not Rick, but I am all for this. You offer a service and charge a fair price for it. Not purchasing the service does not affect game play, but some players may find great value in it. Good idea.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

I still have my moments....

Maybe we should send that message on the next Voyager and see what the aliens make of it. I felt pretty smart getting maybe six of them, but some of those with unknown context. Should have stopped with Ry Nocerus. I have no Avatar as yet, and given my recent tone and general disposition, that might suit.

You have to be British to get Ry Bena I think. (or live in a former brit colony.)

WWE fans know Ry Back.

Yeah, Americans aren't going to know what Ribena is. Like you, I live in a former colony, so I do.

Question - if you want to change the name of the AN consuls, does that count as the 'king' or not? Because I'm mildly OCD, I would want to change all of their names to match a 'theme' in my mind or it would drive me apeshit the whole game.

Themes included at the low low price of $5.
