At least half the time I use a priestess to find King artifacts I get a darn portal!

I found the short names for two in one turn and both priestesses died!

You really seem to have trouble keeping priestesses alive Diamond. Maybe I should mention this to the police...

I'd really like to improve this whole thing in the next release. But I would really like to do so many things, and that's (in some part) why Kingdoms of Arcania didn't come out.

I've gotten it down to a shortlist of about 20 changes, meaning, for example, the new kingdoms cumulatively are one change.

I think the best thing is for us to get new kingdoms on a new map and the resultant changes related to that, and all the other new cool things I want to introduce into Arda would wait until that is established. I'm still trying to get myself to that reality.

I don't think this is something that needs to be improved. The Keys SHOULD be hard to locate. I may not love it when it happens to me, but I don't want everyone else to make a beeline for the Keys either! Once you get a Key, you have an exclusive on one of the most powerful artifacts in the game and you can pretty much pick it up when it's convenient for you.

I saw mention that some artifacts are in PCs. Are they discovered as normal (troops stop in area, raven familiar, agent recon, etc)? Or does some specific thing have to happen in the PC?

If you capture a PC with a Palantir in it the artifact becomes yours.

But can you know it's there before the attack by recon?

But if you take the PC by emissary or diplomacy you don't get the artifact?
