Team/Magic Game?

There was a lot of back and forth on this one. Can someone re-post how this one is decided (draft-wise). I've only ever played in one team game before and don't want to volunteer for this one blindly.

Draft order will likely go like this:

Team a. 1, 5, 12
Team b. 2, 8, 10
Team c. 3, 6, 11
Team d. 4, 7, 9

We start with 4 teams of 3, trying to get at least one experienced player on each team to help lead the way.  We do a random roll to see which picks each team gets, a, b, c, or d.  Then we pick in order, 1-12.

Normally we draft which draft order as well. But I would be fine with a random selection of the draft order each team gets. I seem to get B a lot which is normally seen as the worst but I have won 3 for 3 with it.

A straight snake is fine if we are drafting players but I think the region/zone is not a good balance.   Team A is very good and team D really bad.

maybe invert the order of the last 4 regions?

The reason your see team a 1 5 12 is the first Draft is because pick 12 is really bad. You get stuck in a region and normally have no control over it likely getting a bad kingdom. Not always the case but does happen. So balance is not just points per pick but also what you are getting. Most seem to care more about the last pick for the team than the first couple round. I have not seen a better order yet but am open if it make since.

Keep the normal region draft. Roll for choice of A, B, C, D
A 1, 5, 12
B 2, 8, 10
C 3, 6, 11
D 4, 7, 9

Choose Mentor selection with a random roll to place A, B, C, D

Then Mentor A would pick player 1 and 8
B 2 and 7
C 3 and 6
D 4 and 5
Either draft can be done first.
