Discussion on 3rd Cycle: The Choosing Rules & Resources

I would like that but I even more wish that changing the King's name can be made to not cost an order. Nearly everybody will order #11 unless they just want to take the gold on turn 3 but many don't care about the King's name. It's always been a priority for me for my own weird reasons - I feel disadvantaged that I have to burn an order for it.

it would mean for like an artifact it would need to give you a number that is not in the game. You could basically just keep redoing the order until you figured out what was not there. I guess you could have a few numbers set aside for that turn only just so you could use it before knowing the true name.

I think it is really a priority thing if it is even going to be fixed. It works as is for now. The king name should be fixed first since some player really like to personalize the them to feel more involved and but at the cost of someone thing real, an order maybe they feel cheated a bit.

After knowing where a hidden pc is, an agent may attempt a mission there but the restrictive hidden feature of a pc is not program-enforced. In other words, if a player of a hidden pc brags about it to a friend and accidentally reveals its location, anyone may attempt an action there once they know where it is. The software doesn't record if your kingdom actually landed a group there or an agent discovering its location before allowing you to do something there.

Order checker is telling me my level 10 agents are maxed out and cannot train again. My turn sheet says "Our current maximum agent training level is 11."

I am entering the orders anyway to see what the programming does.

Try it now but you may have to hit your browser's refresh button on the Covert page to pick up the change.

Well, originally, kingdom customization was supposed to be part of the initial signup/setup process but that required an automated game signup process where players sign up for a new game on a web page. At that site, you'll have the option to spend points to customize your kingdom (before the game begins) so that you'll have the new artifact/emissary names printed on your turn 0 report and ready for your turn 1 actions. But I ran out of time to develop an automated game signup/setup process so order #11 came to be as an alternative though originally it was supposed to be executed at the end of the turn. But due to a number of player requests, Ry Vor caved in and made it earlier in the turn to at least take advantage of the additional gold option. And now people want even more Wink

I've already commented on the ruler name change situation. At some point, the new website will allow you to change the ruler's name (including the three consuls for the AN kingdom) as well as other emissary, agent, and even leader/wizard names but that won't be for a while yet.

For the record, I was not asking for anything. I was just trying to understand the order sequencing to understand if I would have the point of influence available. If not, that's cool. Just need to know.

You may have noticed in the first few 3rd Cycle games that certain pc stats seem to have a common value among a particular pc type (e.g,. villages having a census of 18,400 or so). There was a minor defect in the turn 0 generation of pc stats regarding the terrain modifier (e.,g +15% census for villages in the plains) which is now fixed. So games starting today will have a greater spread of possible values for pc stats than previously.

The Shield spell, brigade special effects (like Northmen in winter), and other protection-oriented items (like Standard of Valor) now consider the defense factor of the troops for their bonus. In other words, the stronger the troop's defense is within the group, the greater the benefit that the protection will provide. So a Red Dragon wizard casting the shield spell would provide more protection than another kingdom at the same wizard level due to the toughness of the RD troops.

I see locate character/group on my turns spell list but do not see it available in the spells pull down menu. I also do not see the ability to divine group locations. Were these removed from 3rd cycle?
