We are all agreed. No in-game code.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

I thought about the use of map coordinates to speak in code as well, though advocate strongly against it. It's one thing to point out the location of a PC relative to some coordinates, it's another thing to start using those coordinates as code. ("hey, from the location of your 2EL, let's attack the kingdom that starts with the coordinates 2 squares north"). It's a code that may be able to be cracked, but I challenge everyone to start seeing this as a contest in which you're not trying to hide your collaboration against others but to instead make light of it. In a role-playing context is even better. We're trying to get inside the minds of the Kings and Queens of Alamaze.

Oh! I didn't think of it that way! No, I would not be in favor of code either. I think it destroys the spirit of what was intended.

Who saw a WI, I missed it. Is there really a WI?

Lord Bottlenose,
Your offer, in a nutshell, is this. If we both pursue and I win, I get temporary possession and a subsequent gold payment. If you win, I get temporary possession without the gold payment. Either way, you end up with a superior artifact and I, the Dwarf, maybe some gold (only if I win) and the temporary use of an artifact. Alternatively, you'll trade a minor artifact for what will net you 10k gold plus a superior artifact. Did I miss anything?
Perhaps you entered these negotiations with a presumed right to the artifact which has skewed your sense of what may be fair, for even a drunken troll adept (no offense Big Chief No Fart) can see the lack of balance in your offer. You claim to be a reasonable trader, but you're certainly not doing well to back up that claim.
I also grow tired and weary. I propose one last time that we each be left alone to investigate the sighting, which gives you a 50% chance of obtaining what you want at no additional cost. There is nothing whatsoever unfair about this simple proposal.

My mistake, I too often confuse LD and LT for a second. It's like a mental block like not remembering my friend's husband's name despite being told it a half dozen times.

OOC. I think using reference to point to PC locations or sights is likely fine because the alternative is to blurt them out and that could easily cause everyone to start spitting out everyone else's PC info in spite.
But i would hope we all see an obvious difference when your talking about going to war and creating complicated coding.
