I had suggested and gotten good comments for improving the heal spell but it had to be put on hold last time. I am guessing this could be an easy code change. As it is I think heal two types heals 15% for the first and 9% for the second. Heal one type only heals 1 type for 15% so I NEVER use it. I would suggest heal one type heals at least 20% but a little less than if you added the 15 and 9 for 24%. 20% to 22% would seem right.
What say the others?
I agree with modifying Healing and also having it apply, perhaps optionally, to all experience levels of a brigade type.
Additionally, there will be a new Trait, Tough, which is like auto-healing for kingdoms that likely wouldn't have magical healing but would be, well, tough. Cimmerians, Halflings, Dwarves, Red Dragons, Black Dragons.

If retention of new players is the most important part then I propose most efforts be focused on making the game as intuitive as possible. Restructuring and revamping the orders and rules book would be huge. In a dream world allow hyperlinks between the order entry site and the order descriptions. Update the Lord Frost tool to reflect the changes in the game.
New orders, traits, maps... all are worthy, but none will really make a new player likely to stick.
The order entry tool/site is the single greatest addition to Alamaze since it started and the Maps snapshot is number 2. More updates on those lines would go a long way to helping the new player experience. IMHO.

I agree 1000%. I wouldn't get your hopes up though.

Yeah for new players to get started and keep playing enough to enjoy the game like we do, that would be job #1. If I hadn't ever played paper and pencil back in the day, I'd probably never have stuck it out.

I know it is tedious work for Rick and Mike but it makes sense to fix the cracks in the foundation before we add another story to the building. We are very reliant on older players to fill the games and without some fresh meat...er... new players, it's just a matter of time before we can't launch games.

Om my gosh, I've been thinking and I finally came up with a fantastic idea in the shower.
Nazgul and wraith need to be buffed. No one ever uses them- its not worth the price of a spell and a level, then the wizard or leader can still be killed with a spell or an artifact. Maybe take away the level penalty or make them truly immune or almost immune. Must have Rohirrim with Valyrian steal only by HA kingdom. Something like that.

I think most people agree with you there, Calin. Including myself. And while I am sure there's more to these changes than just throwing a switch, I think The Powers That Be (T.P.T.B) agree as well.
However, since some of us can't code or help with game mechanics in any way it doesn't hurt to throw some ideas out there and let the forum debate them. Like Pine Needle's excellent idea about Nazguls/Wraiths.
The only problem with that one is that I didn't think of it. I would start with eliminating the level reduction penalty for sure. Good job, PN

LORD Garth- I appreciate your kudos. If you took a shower, you too could come up with a fantastic idea. Pine Needle.
