As for your protection plan, if we controlled the vast expanse of Amberland we would make an offer, but with the Giant kingdom shrinking back into the hills, we find ourselves with a lot of ground to cover to match our neighbors success. We can revisit the issue in a few turns if you wish. No permanent hard feelings we hope.

I think the patrol will only have wizards. I will still be sending a group to your starting village to raise your gold production this turn.
