Seriously!!! I'm 8 times the value of a village and I threaten it and it rejects me and a battle ensues. I don't care if the he controls the region, I would think with that size of force coming against a village, it would fold.
Also, I'm 4 times the size of a city, I threaten it, it rejects and nothing happens, because he domed it!!! I built this force because in all of the other conversations about getting around a dome, all the 'experts' said that threatening was a way to go. I had 2 wizards in the region that could have dispelled dome, but I didn't use them because of the endless advice on using threaten. There was a good chance that he would have lost the region if the city would have capitulated, one way or the other. My whole game is ruined. I built my military groups specifically to avoid the dome issue as I'm not a military kingdom.

Was your regional reaction hostile?

I personally use siege. No nonsense that way with your group mimicking diplomatic efforts like an emissary but that's my personal style. Especially if you have the Siege Engineering trait.
Anyway, have these experts mentioned that your group cannot diplo/threaten a pc with the following (if pc is owned by the controller of the region): - pc owner is friendly in region (which most controllers would have btw) - pc owner declared the attacking kingdom as an enemy (or natural enemy) If so then no diplomacy is possible and it'll always fail. Go with siege instead. It'll take longer but you get around domes and other things. If Frost's player tools didn't flag this as failure, I'll make sure the next version of it (browser-based btw) will explain the situation better and state that you had no chance of succeeding.

No...reading the general rules on threatening it doesn't mention any of this AND the player tool doesn't have threaten as one of the options on it. It only has parley and diplomacy.
I don't even want to finish this game, unless we can rewind the game about 6 turns so I can rebuild my forces to contend with something like this.

Hello everybody.
I've just completed my free duel game; and I'm trying to find where to change my subscription plan from the fixed free duel game to scout level. The Alamaze home page limits you to new player sign-ups, and that limits you to just the free duel entry level. Can I find a link to paypal somewhere? Or do I just sign-up for any game that interests me and then get billed through e-mail?

I don't think you can get a game started until Rick (RY Vor) returns to work. Uncle Mike is also an administrator but Rick is the only one that handles accounts and Mike has said he is not going to start any new games. Hopefully Rick makes a speedy recovery and you get into your first real game soon. It is recommended that you start with a duel and there are a bunch of experienced players that usually offer to help. Good luck!
Flesh, always start a thread in game forums if you would like to get a game going. Don’t start it in Que until we have enough interested players to start one. Also a more experience player can set it up when enough players have posted they want in. If I remember right you just sign up for the game, and Rick will send out the invoice billing, which will be through PayPal. You don’t need to change anything on your part, as you sign up for games you automatically move into the next subscription level. I think that’s right..

The DA setup has:
Cunning: Agent training reduced by -1,000 gold. Order: Magic research cost and agent training are +1,000 gold per level (i.e. a penalty due to the imposition of maintaining order). Spy Network: The cost for agent training is reduced by 20%. Mathematically, how does this work out? The first 2 cancel each other and you're left with the Spy Network? Also....come on people, get your orders in and hit the READY button!!! I'm bored! |
