I'm game for a warlords. Obviously nothing starting while Ry Vor is off on family duty, but once he's back... Pretty sure we can find two more!

Works for me.

(WI) I am happy to enlighten my fellow Alamazians as to my small role in DE's win. We had agreed to share The Mists, although I was to retain control. I blundered and gave him coordinates to the wrong PCs, accidentally giving him my region (I admit, I really wasn't paying very much attention lately ... too much going on in the mundane world). When he realized he had my region, he wished to see what he could do if he retained control for a bit. I agreed, since at that point I was occupied with my attack on the AN anyway (sorry AN ... I was bored and you were one of the few with whom I had no relationship Smile ). I was indeed poised to send ems and groups back to The Mists this very turn (as can be verified, if you like). My attack on AN was poorly planned and not going well, so I was going to re-group. SO ... yes, I helped DE to win, but it wasn't exactly as was implied. Nothing nefarious ... just inattention. For this, I apologize to my fellow Alamazians. I shortened what could have been a more interesting game. I do, however, think DE still deserves congratulations. He fought hard and well and positioned himself to take advantage of good luck. Congrats to DE!!!!

I was the DA in 138. I was having a grand ol time fighting the BL one on one. Only to have the DE , whom I had a 10 turn NAP with , start killing my em's with his agents. Had to 920 to find out it was him for sure. His response: oops I moved against you a couple turns early. My bad.

Great guy that Vball .... Maybe you should stick to anon games...less worry for your supposed allies and NAP holders. Good luck.

At least he had the decency to say "oops". Amirite?

(RD) I played the red in this game - a deliberate choice as I felt the fast moving groups would be a bit of an advantage in the Exploratory format. Of course, the downside is that only 1 RD group starts in the mountains - the 2RD and 3RD are several turns away. I split off a patrol and started looking about. I made brief contact with the DW to see if we could find a way to divide the TM, but it was clear we had competing interests and it wouldn't be possible. I got the GN to agree to give me some needed winter suplies in exchange for leaving Runnimede alone.
One part of my ESO was to have a SS pop center, so I diverted the 2RD there. I had lousy, lousy luck - never found a village - and eventually diverted the 2RD up to #3 as I need it up there. I had resolved to take on the DW without allies - I was curious to see who would prevail in a 1 on 1 fight, so as long as he never brought anybody into the war against me (and he didn't), we'd got hammer-to-claw.
He put up quite a fight - he took the region on turn 4, which was a blow and pressed me hard. At one point, I had to go begging for table scraps and the DA (who didn't want the DW to be free to come south) sent me 10k a number of turns running - that little bit kept me in the game. Another minus was that my villages outside the mountains got taken by the UN - that really hurt me in the food department. I don't think it was done on behalf of the DW, I think the UN just took advantage. It took time, but I slowly began to grind the DW down - each time I took back a pop center with my groups, there was a chance to snag one of his emmies. I sieged the city (which was his capital) away from him and then started using 3 groups to get ahead of the game. He also started goaltending at his capital - obviously if I could hit him there, it would be a good thing, but having his main group pinned down was almost better. Eventually I got control and kept the DW knocked back on his heels. I didn't think he would quit, but I made the decision to move south against the DE as he'd taken over from the DA in the Steppes and established himself as the leader. I did some damage, but I also uncharacteristically missed a couple of turns (overall, I think I missed 4 turns in this game - weird as in most games I never miss any - somehow I kept forgetting to get my turns in on this one).
I was hoping the EL would press the DE in the region as well, but he didn't want to fully commit and then the RA, having apparently been evicted from 9, came up to find a new home in the Mountains. It might have been my fault - I had moved on a village in the Mists that had belonged to the UN - I needed to get some more food sources and I owed him - but I found it owned by the RA. I took it anyway, so I guess I gave him the motive. When he showed up in 3, I tried to steer him against the DE, but he didn't reply - I suspect they had a NAP or something or else he was just motivated to hit me.
I was torn between full-on defending 3 and pressing against the DE in 6. Along with waffling and missing turns, I more or less screwed myself. I was sort of glad the game ended when it did because winter was about to start and I really didn't want to have another 3 turns of starving and/or begging. It was a great game, though.
For Iron Willed, I have to nominate Cloud as the DW. I really enjoy playing against opponents like him who don't quit. Infamous has to be VballMichael, the winner of the game, who apparently caused strong feelings. Personally, my experiences with the DE were all straightforward.

Isn't the DE supposed to be, well, evil?

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

(GI)
I find it amusing that Brgoan feels it is ok to work with the AN, UN, and SO to pull a four on one attack against the GI but when another kingdom works with their allies to win the game he becomes upset. You cant have it both ways Brogan, either people are allowed to work together or they are not. You and your allies were not strong enough to pull off a win. Live with it.

Maybe the RA? Wasn't me though.

You're right, I was getting confused with another RD game I was playing at the same time. After checking, only the GN gave me help during this game in exchange for leaving 7 alone.
