5354 Sharpening My Steel Privately
(11-21-2019, 01:59 PM)unclemike Wrote: GN - All:

Just FYI but with the RD drop, the BL may run away with this game if we don't work together to stop him. The BL already has two regions under control, hit my city in Triumvia, and is now in my region of Zanthia (at my city). Normally, I can handle a foe like this but the NE also moved all four of his groups into my region at the same time. An army group at my capital, an army at a town, and two other groups elsewhere so I may be out of the game soon against those two. That means that unless others move against the BL-NE, the BL may end the game fairly quickly and it's only turn 13.

----------------------------------------

Update: After reading the text above, I am not accusing anyone of being an ally with another which isn't allowed in this game. It's just coincidence that the BL and NE both moved against me on the same turn. It happens and I welcome the challenge but I wanted to warn others in the game who may not know that the BL is moving pretty fast and may end the game soon. Just a heads up that's all so if you were planning on acting against the BL, you may want to do so soon.

Rest assured the BL incursion is a coincidence.  I have no interest in ending this game in a couple more turns with a BL run away.

You released a fair amount of info.... I will do likewise.  I have very good info on your Kingdom as your lack of communication was also telling (rightly or wrongly) about your intentions so like with the RD I was preparing for an incursion from you.  You could try more "perfumed paper" to prevent future misunderstandings.  :0

What I can say is that I am a new player (2nd game) and that I continue to be amazed by what you veterans can pull together.  Your army is larger than mine (I saw BL army on your RD city last turn) and that the economy of just your region's City (that apparently BL will take this turn) is larger than ALL of my PCs combined.  Your wizards are also more powerful than mine despite me being a Wizard kingdom.  How you did all this I do not know but would like to partner with you in a future game!  Smile

So all that said .. I cannot not execute on the mission that I have started and invested so many resources in preparing for.  Nor do I want a neighbor that strong beside me to be frank.  I am, however, happy to pause and ensure that the BL does not end this game prematurely and cease future conflict with you - it would be a real shame to end this otherwise very enjoyable game too soon.

The terms would be that I will take everything that I am on that you see (which includes your capital) but I will not take the PCs with my sleeper politicals that you do not know about.  We work together to ensure that BL doesn't capture your region or the old RD region and trust that the PI will be helpful in these endeavors.

I will let you, as a veteran, provide guidance about what is or isn't allowed given the spirit of the no alliance set-up in this game.

Let me know if you find these terms agreeable and in the spirit of the game.

Yikes. No, no, no. We cannot work together in this special no-ally game.

I just wanted to inform everyone what was happening in my area of the map and that DuPont (BL) must be playing the best of his ability to move that fast thru several regions. If the BL also moved emissaries into Triumvia last turn when he took my city, that could be his 3rd region while he moved his group(s) into Zanthia to be his 4th region. I think that's blazing fast.

To NE: you really took me by surprise so good job. I didn't expect your multi-attack invasion and hitting my capital before I was ready for it was a solid move. Do what you wish against me but you may not be as successful as you think against the mighty gnomes in the long run.

BTW, gnomes get hidden ore spell at lvl 2 so I cast a crapload of them to boost up my gold production...and yes, that means high level wizards too...

Down with DuPont!

And with AM, who everyone seems to be ignoring but has two regions and seems to be whooping up on DW at the moment.

Haha 2 regions and I’m a danger, the master of Illusion throws out his tradecraft. The Dwarves was a forced on me because he attacked and took my city. I cannot help his little legs couldn’t get him back to untamed lands quick enough to stop the Ranger invasion.

"It's what I do" has been bandied about as perfectly acceptable logic for everything and allows me to act with impunity; it justifies all and no apology is forthcoming.

Down with Brek!

BL-GN: Alas, we moved our main group into Zanthia mostly because we DIDN'T want to snap up Triumvia and become a three-region target. Glitter boy continues to bedevil us by not staying dead and we will have to soon return and stamp out his embers again. Destiny's End was more a target of opportunity than anything. A very rich one, to be sure - 131000 gold per turn! Hey, don't blame me if you leave treasure around unguarded like that. We're dragons, for us, gold is better than sex. Actually, sex on a pile of gold is even better. We'll keep some of your gnomes as slaves to wash off the gold pieces when we are done.
BL-PI: I am actually glad that you realized our message - that we agreed YOU planned to keep those holdings in Triumvia did not mean we agreed. While I would never lie, I also don't see the point in saying 'Yes, we're coming for you, batten the hatches.' But since you denigrated us, we assume you puzzled it out.

We seem to recall you took our village so we took your city and you took our city so we burned your viilage.
