Quicksilver, Lord of Illusions
Hail the lord of illusion.
It appears I may be the only kingdom that can assist you in the Northern sea area. What is your proposal? I have a village just cleared of all non living entities on the shore.
Waiting for your response
Lord of Death
I will pay you $20k gold to purchase the village outright and maintain a merchant fleet there (unfettered by your navy of course) or swap a village in the Sea of Foreboding with you.
Dear king of illusion, what a great offer you propose, however this particular village is very dear to my people, and we have work so hard cleaning up the corpses.......I mean trash from the courtyard. A village giving you access to a waterway, to create a fleet in my beloved Sea, making you 18,000 gold a turn, really should be worth a great deal more to your kingdom. The offer of the sea of Forbidding tempting, however I fear there may be others who would have a say in that sea.
I counter- purpose two offers to you 1). 20k initial gold and 8,000 gold a turn ( less than half) AFTER the 4 turns required to max your fleet. Or 2). 20K gold and 1/3 the gold made as a S.O. with an ally declaration?
Or a counter offer we could both agree with?
Eagerly awaiting your reply Good king:
King and keeper of the gates of the dead!!! Dread Lord of the Dead,
We send our deepest greetings to you great king!
We received word that your magnanimous offer to trade a very lovely natural location adjacent to the mighty Sea of Terror has been ignominiously spurned. The vultures, snakes, catfish, and other base creatures have brought this news to us from the south. We hesitated to believe such an atrocity might have occurred; yet, a faerie drake has assured us of the truth of these nearly illusory rumors.
As such, we would be happy to accept the terms of agreement 2 you so nobly offered to another. We would happily purchase the location of the village you identified for a gift of 20K gold, declare you an ally of the people of Oakendale, and create a standing order to send you 1/3 the gold produced by the lovely village we have heard rumors of. We hope the zombie infestation has been burned away, but, if not, we should be able to accomplish that end when we consecrate that ground to Gaia.
Are you interested Great Lord?
We await your reply at your convenience.

Great Druid King we are in agreement. Your alliance will make great peace between our peoples. The ready to move in village will be located at FL. I will declare you an ally this turn..
King of the Northern Mists
PS: that was 1/3 of the fleet production, not gold produced, however I will be happy with the initial gold and alliance with your kingdom.

Master Sorcerer,
We druids must confess some confusion as to how it is the retreat we druids have owned since the beginning of this new age was promised to another, especially in light of the professed peace between our peoples.
Now when the Illusionist usurped our peaceful retreat we were certain he understood that it was owned by the druids. Nevertheless, we assumed the best and gave him the benefit of the doubt; maybe the mighty Illusionist was too deep into his studies to read the report from his underlings? Anyhow, we decided not to make an issue of it at that moment. One of our most ancient brothers continued to tend our groves at Temporary Atlantis and -- as in ancient times -- the great bounty of nature has ripened into a conscious pledge of fealty due to the ministrations of the humble druids.
We assure you, Mighty Sorcerer, that nowhere in the land is it our intent to sow dissension. In fact, should the Illusionist continue to desire our well tended retreat at Temporary Atlantis we are happy to make the location available to him on the exact same terms that were offered to him by our esteemed ally the Dread Necromancer. Simply declare the druids an Ally, unilaterally transfer 20k gold to us, and provide a standing order for 1/3 of the fleet production four turns later -- after the merchant fleets have been built to full capacity. Or he can provide to us a mutually acceptable counter offer.
I assume the peace between our two peoples remains fully in effect, notwithstanding the boorish usurpation by another of our ancient retreat. [There is no doubt that TA was offered in good faith. You certainly did not know it was owned already. The Illusionist should have informed you of this fact before usurping the location. One cannot barter away what one does not own -- such a deal is a tawdry illusion, nothing more.]
Yours in peace, the humble druid.

We think TA may prove to be a very expensive resort for whoever just moved in there. Perhaps it should be named Tark's Adventure? If the small folk can be of any assistance to either of you neighbors please send a pigeon.

Gnomish Trading Company
Lord of the Gnomish Trading Company,
After review of the many messages disseminated in the early months of this new age it is clear to us simple druids that not once did the Gnomish Trading Company promise to another something which it did not own. Nor, as far as we can tell, did the Gnomish Trading Company stand aside and let another take -- free of charge -- that which it did own.
It is imperative that the very foundation of business transactions -- i.e. ownership -- be supported by all those who favor free trade throughout the land. Should the illusion of ownership replace actual ownership as a basis for business transactions we fear that such a system would eventually devolve into chaos and anarchy. We shudder to think of the world of Alamaze in such a state.
The humble, peace-loving druids.
