Newbie Questions
Thanks, Rick. One of my hurdles has been getting over my Fall of Rome - based assumptions Smile

So based on this, the only way that I would know the name of the emissary the turn that he relocates to the PC would be if I did a recon of the PC that turn, or through magic?

Possible 30 orders in Maelstrom??? Wow!!! In Resurgence, some days I feel like I could use that many and then others...not so much.

Order availability has always been something like the third resource in Alamaze.  So while, not trying to end that, with the expansion of available orders especially with an eye to economic development, but also recon, etc., and in a longer game, I think allowing 30 orders per turn is yet another strategic distinctive.  How often have you not issued an important recon because you didn't have the order?  Now with more orders potentially available (though you have to work to get them), you can make an attack abroad and still have reasonable defense of your homeland.

I have an artifact which affects " the food production of the population center it is residing within." How do I activate it? I assumed that parking it in a patrol and hovering over the population center would do it, but apparently not. I don't see a way to transfer a figure to a pop center..

You must transfer the artifact to a population center via agent, with order #910 (Transfer Artifact). This order has no range limit, and allows you to transfer an artifact from a group to a PC.

Was there a time when you could not end movement on a sea square? Maybe back in 1st or 2nd Cycle?

Only when you cast mist spell.   Otherwise you could always move on water if you had the ships.

Used to be much harsher for patrols and armies that lost there ships

The pickup area for the agent has to be within his range. No range limit for destination. Just read the order description.

Patrol-sized groups (0 troops with just leader/wizard) may end on water without a fleet. Be careful though, if an enemy sea patrol catches you, all are lost in your patrol of leaders/wizards. To make a patrol-sized group safe on water, first build an Elite ship.

The use of your ships is down to either moving troops, mercantile or sea patrol right. What I'm getting at, you can't move troops and have mercantile going at the same time correct?
