Should be none vote. So it fails. Need to make sure the person that put it up knows they are not to vote as well.

No offense gentlemen but this was NOT a game rule at the start of this game. And this later modification did NOT have all players agreeing to it (until just now). Now I'm begrudgingly willing to adopt it AFTER the current motion now that ALL players have chimed in, but I'm certainly NOT going to Abstain to my current motion since it was done fully and properly within the initial game rules.
And for the record, I really don't care for these "after the fact" rule changes; my strategy and gold expense for pursuing the HC seats was based on the existing rules at the start of the game. Had the "secret only" HC motion rules been in effect on Turn 0, it WOULD have affected my strategy for pursuing the HC since Secret Only is a very different bird (with motions far more likely to get voted down). Also for the record, I think its a bad precedent to change rules midway through a game. If the rule was "that" important, it should have been included in the original posting, or at the very least, published and agreed to by ALL players BEFORE Turn 1 runs. "Assuming" that there are implicit rules (because of past games or other formats) in effect is NOT good policy. This rule change is a big plus for those kingdoms/players not on the HC.

Imp you have a fair point. However I specifically adjusted my bids down due to believing we were moving to a secret ballot after turn 1. Had I believed we were going to have open ballots I would have adjusted how I set up.
I am okay with the issue being open but I do want future ones secret or fail.

Can we all agree to the Secret Ballot mandate going forward after this turn? Seems like the easiest way to split the baby at this point.

I agree.

I am fine either way. Though I thought the rule was in effect since nobody choose to object to it before.

Pleased you guys seem to have handled this. Again, we can enforce the official game, which is Full-On, but the dozen variations and house rules are out of our control and I've always felt these will bite me at some point. But trying to provide what the players ask for.

It's on me, I set up the game and should have thought to specify one way or another.
