All kingdoms in the Solo/Duel format should get two towns and two villages. Any more than that on this tiny map would be unfair to the others. ESO bonus is still good for the TY.
There should also be human controlled PCs in both regions in my opinion. In fact, I would advocate that all PCs not player controlled be human controlled. This will prevent early conclusions to the contest. Or you can wait until it goes live and see that I am right.
seems this format is more for newer players and should likely keep as much as the standard version as possible, I find taking the region in 3rd cycle already only gives around 3 PCs or so. But removing neutral PCs, you are removing an important element to learning how to take your first region. With experience players really the game will be hard pressed to make it to turn 12 with or without all human PC. I still think it will be a fun game to play between two players.

I agree with all you say here my friend.
I was only making an observation about the number of turns necessary to control two regions. You seem to concur.
Yes these could be over an soon as 5 turns. I figure 7 - 10 will be the norm though which is fine as a intro game.
Also why a ready button would be cool could finish a game over one weekend with someone.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) a ready button should be a top priority. I used to think that it would be too complicated, but UM clearly has the expertise.

The Ready button is something that I am not in favor for the Solo game.
The whole purpose of having a Solo game is to allow new players to become acclimated to Alamaze, in how it works and plays out every turn. If we add a Ready button for immediate turn processing (like real-time strategy games such as Age of Empires or Clash of Clans) then players will want the same for the regular game of which Alamaze clearly is not and it'll end up causing confusion.
So adding immediate turn processing to the Solo game will only end up providing a false impression of the normal game which won't be beneficial for us. The player will go from immediate action to waiting several days before getting results and I feel that many will drop out before turn 10 because they were expecting something else like the Solo game.
However since Ry Vor requested it, I'm researching the possibility of a Ready button for the Solo game to see how much the server environment will have to change without it interfering with the other games. But I am not in favor of immediate turn processing for the Solo game and I think it'll be a big mistake if we move ahead with it.
As an alternative, I would rather create a new turn frequency interval, like Daily (7 turns a week!), to establish fast action not only for the Solo game but also for a regular game like anonymous. I think that would be a better way of introducing new players to a typical Alamaze experience than something else like immediate turn processing from a Ready button.
IMO, when Kingdoms of Arcania comes out then we can introduce a Ready button for the Solo game but not before...
You make a good point about the solo game. Dual and regular games would benefit, however, this was an immensely popular upgrade towards the end of Fall of Rome and it had almost no downsides. The one downside it did have was that we could see that one slacker who forgot to hit 'Ready' and sometimes got annoyed with him.

Looks nice! Though the city names a bit difficult to read (and Fire of the Void isn't that clear as well as the marsh areas) but otherwise looks cool. If Lord Diamond does his magic and creates a powerpoint version, I'll post on the Help Guides link for everyone to use.

Wouldn't we simulate a Ready button for other games with a Daily turn frequency? It'll be pretty close to the Kingdoms of Arcania experience with no downsides or risk to the server and I can create that new turn frequency in less than a day. Would anyone be interested in a daily game? Or should I ask, what was the typical turn frequency of having a Ready button? Every two days? I could try to duplicate the same if possible...
