I feel I should give a couple thoughts, what with being quoted and all. To LT's points, I agree with the following:
1) I don't disagree that consul enamor at 485 would make AN more interesting, and heighten the allure of the AN as a premier political power. DE can, through his princes, get to tolerant (or susp if AN controls) via using his princes, so not too much difference there.
2) I don't think that doing so would unbalance the game.

However, I'm guessing it was changed back in the Pegasus days for a reason, and the way it works right now doesn't indicate anything broken. Before making tweaks to orders and the like, I'd rather see the energy go into fixing known issues (and to an automated entry system!). Once the basics are handled, it would make sense to then start looking at some of the issues that have come up recently (BL sightings, AN enamor order, etc.).

Just my opinion, though.
