Any survivors when a group is destroyed?

If I have a wizard/adept cast a protective spell like self invisible and all the brigades in their group are wiped out, is that automatic death for the wizard/adept too? What about leaders with a protect spell on them? Or wizards/leaders without protect spells?

Self-invisible will protect them from combat dangers. Protect leaders/wizards will protect them from magic. So, if you cast self-invisible, the adept will survive (unless the opposing kingdom cast kill wizard) and will end up in a patrol. The leaders are fairly well hosed. Especially against kingdoms who had a HC seat and sold it.
