Emmy + Sea Town = Death ?
#1
Hi,

I know an army, leader, or wizard is rip without any fleets supporting it in a sea space.

If an emissary moves into a town ( or village ) located in a sea space, will it die? From what I can tell, No - because emmys can only be inside pop centers.

Could someone smart about this please post clarification?

Thanks in advance for taking the time with such a basic question.

Jumpingfist - do not look at this, this has nothing to do with your sea town! Really.... Look, a wolf! /switches.glasses....Now, let us drink...

Emissaries do not require fleets to support them in sea spaces.

I think you can assume that the towns and villages located in sea spaces are on islands. Emissaries and agents can move freely to and from them so long as they aren't blocked by an army (as with any other population center). In fact, many kingdoms prefer to move their capitals to population centers located in sea provinces (or hide their agents in them), as it makes them immune to attack by the two dragon kingdoms and far less vulnerable to attack from most other kingdoms.

Note that Patrol size groups do also not require fleets to support them in moving over seas spaces. I'm not sure if it states this explicitly in the rules but it is true (and maybe mentioned officially somewhere where I missed it).

Thanks, you two!
I had NO idea that a patrol could go on the sea unsupported by ships...follow up question: is said patrol subject to sea interception?

It's right in the rules for sea patrol:

While a Patrol does not require a fleet in the sea to move or remain at sea (only brigades require fleets), it still must issue order #710 or #715 to move in a sea area. The fleets required are equal to the number of brigades, and Patrols have no brigades. However, a Patrol may be interdicted (intercepted by sea patrol) at half the usual interdiction rate (so 30%) of the time by a non-ally on Sea Patrol. If the kingdom with a Patrol sized group at sea has fleets, they will defend the Patrol. However, an interdicted Patrol with no supporting fleets is destroyed and all characters in the Patrol, lost.

A pirate needs to know these things.
