I prefer the discovery aspect. I hope that we can add new, dfferent, and random elements for everyone to discover in future games. There is no reason that the veteran players can't enjoy that aspect of the game as well.

If the game can evolve without the GM's and coders pulling out their hair, I'm all for it. Just remember though - with modifications comes bugs Undecided

Oh, there will be modifications and there will be bugs. Just so the bugs get fixed, it's all good.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

I started Alamaze in 1986 or so, got the Origins Plaque here looking at me from 1987.

By the time I had to let it go to Phil about 1991 (after Dragon Magazine review), we had the four main scenarios - the two Steel and Magic Cycles, with the new rules, kingdoms, victory conditions, ESO, natural enemies, etc.

Now in 2013, I'd like to get some scalability through technology, and then get a new version out with new kingdoms, a new map, some tweaks to existing spells, brigade values, court composition, and a few other elements that we see in Fall of Rome.

Having new expansions / maps / scenarios will be the right tonic, I believe. Meanwhile, the rediscovery process is one I think we are all enjoying.
